Quick Diets to Lose Weight

Quick diets to lose weight are extremely popular these days but not all of the fad diets out there are healthy or effective. Some diets produce rapid results at the expense of your health, while other diets are not sustainable. Eating a balanced diet while limiting caloric intake is key for healthy and fast weight loss.

Fluids

    Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. Green tea for breakfast provides antioxidants. Stay hydrated during the rest of the morning and afternoon by drinking at least 64 ounces of water--about eight glasses. Drink more if possible to fill your stomach and cleanse your system as you begin your weight loss diet.

Fruits and Vegetables

    Use common sense and avoid most foods with fat and carbohydrates. Eat mostly fresh fruits and vegetables for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Have oranges in the morning, carrot sticks and salad at lunch and boiled broccoli for dinner. Forget about cake and ice cream for dessert. Fresh fruits such as peaches and strawberries are a much healthier choice that will cut down on your intake of calories.

Lean Protein

    You will need a source of fuel to power your body even while you diet. Lean protein provides long lasting energy with limited calories. Do not go the Atkins route and start eating bacon and sausage all the time. Stick to lean sources of protein such as chicken, fish, egg whites, legumes and nuts. The amino acids in lean protein help your body build and maintain muscle mass, making protein an essential nutrient for anyone on a diet and exercise regimen geared towards fast weight loss.
