How to Lose Weight by Quitting Drinking

Consuming large amounts of alcohol can be a leading factor in weight gain. Not only are you consuming more calories, but alcohol also adversely affects your body's ability to burn fat. Drinking alcohol before a meal can also increase your appetite, which results in the consumption of more weight-gaining calories. Cutting alcohol out of your diet is a sure way to help lose some extra pounds.

Instructions

    1

Drink water instead of alcohol: one large glass of wine on a daily basis equals consuming 150 calories or more per glass. Cut out more than 1,000 calories on a weekly basis by switching to water, which also helps you flush toxins out of our body while shedding pounds.

    2

Replace alcohol with club soda in social situations if you find it difficult to avoid alcoholic beverages and don't want to order water. Avoid replacing alcohol with regular soda or other calorie-laden beverages; club soda does not have any calories, so it is a great alternative to liquor and beer.

    3

Exercise on a daily basis. Wake up better rested after sleeping without alcohol in your system and feel more apt to take on a regular fitness routine, which also contributes to weight loss.
